Receive your I-20

Prepare for your Visa Interview

  • Prepare for your US Visa Interview by reading Visa Interview Tips
  • Read here for more information on understanding how College and University are at the same level of education in the United States.
  • Email your Admission Counselor the date of your Visa Interview once it is scheduled.


F-1 Visa Approval

  • Email your Admission Counselor when your F-1 Student Visa is approved.
  • If you are unable to schedule a visa appointment prior to the term start, please email your admission counselor to defer your admission to a future term.
NEC Credentials
  • Once your visa has been approved, your admission counselor will send your NEC log in information.
  • This can take up to 3 business days after we receive notification that your F-1 Visa has been approved.
  • Contact HelpDesk@nec.edu for technical issues.
  • Check your email regularly and be sure you can log into MyNEC, your NEC email and Blackboard.​
Class Registration
  • Academic Advising will register your first class closer to the term start.
  • Be sure to monitor your NEC email address, Academic Advising will email you with your NEC email with your class schedule and important information about orientation.​
Pay Your Tuition 
  • You can only pay your tuition after you have been registered for classes.
  • Payment is due by 4PM EST the Friday before your term starts.
    • Log into MyNEC using your NEC email address and password:
      • Go to Student Services and Financial Aid
      • Online Account
      • Make a Payment
  • Contact Student Financial Services with any questions at SFS@nec.edu or 603-428-2226.
Make Your Travel Plans
  • ​You cannot enter the U.S. more than 30 days before the term start listed on your I-20.
  • You must be on campus in Henniker, NH by your program start.
    • You must be present for orientation and your first class. If you cannot arrive by orientation, you can request a deferral of your admission to the next term. 
  • ​The closest international airport is Boston Logan International Airport (BOS).
