Weather

New England experiences all 4 seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall, & Winter. WMUR is a great resource for weather conditions: https://www.wmur.com/weather.

Spring (March to May): Spring is "mud season." The snow from winter is melting, and we tend to see a lot of rain. We recommend bringing or buying boots to wear during this season. You will see plants beginning to bloom and temperatures are usually between 30°F and 60°F (-1°C and 15°C).

Summer (June to August): Summer is usually sunny, hot, and humid. Temperatures range from 70°F to 105°F (21°C to 41°C). Make sure to bring and use sunscreen! This is a great time to check out the many lakes and rivers around New Hampshire (be sure to check out swimming safe tips here: Swimming Safety).

Fall (September to October): Fall is one of New England's busiest seasons due to the beautiful foliage. The leaves on most of the trees turn stunning colors of reds, oranges, and yellows. We highly recommend checking out Franconia Notch during this season but be warned! It will be busy. This is a great time to check out some local hikes, but be sure to bring a jacket with you. Temperatures are usually between 35°F and 55°F (2°C and 12°C).
Winter (November to February): Winter is the longest season in New England. Winter brings a lot of snow, ice, and cold temperatures. Heavy winter jackets, snow pants, and winter boots are highly recommended. Temperatures tend to be between -10°F to 35°F (-23°C and 2°C). Colder temperatures are possible! This is a great time to learn how to ski at Pat's Peak! Find more info here: https://www.patspeak.com/
