Receive your Change of Status I-20

  • Your I-20 will be emailed to you by the International Advising Office.
    • Please allow up to 2 weeks to receive your I-20.
    • Be sure to monitor your junk and spam folders.

Change of Status Approval

  • Email your Admission Counselor once your change of status is approved or if you need to defer your admission to a future term.
    • Otherwise, your SEVIS record will be canceled within 30 days after a missed program start.
  • ​Once your change of status is approved and you have received a copy of your I-797A, please send a copy to international@nec.edu.
New England College Email and myNEC access
  • Once your change of status has been approved, your admission counselor will send your NEC log in information, including New England College Student ID and email account.
  • This can take up to 3 business days after we receive notification that your F-1 Visa has been approved.
  • Contact HelpDesk@nec.edu for technical issues.
  • Check your email regularly and be sure you can log into MyNEC, your NEC email and Blackboard.​


 
Course Registration
  • Academic Advising will register your first class closer to the term start.
    • Students cannot register themselves for their first term. Please be patient. 
  • Be sure to monitor your NEC email address, Academic Advising will email you with your NEC email with your course information. 
  • Please contact StudentServices_GPS@nec.edu with questions.  


 
Complete and submit the Employment Agreement Form (EAF)
  • Important: An internship is required from the beginning of this program. You may not begin the program without an internship lined up.
  • Your admission counselor will email you the Employment Agreement Form (EAF) once your change of status has been approved.
  • Internships or jobs must directly relate to the program objectives of the student’s chosen program of study. 
  • Fill out the EAF completely, including your signature and your work supervisor’s signature. 
  • Send the completed EAF and a copy of your Offer Letter to EAF@nec.edu
  • When the EAF is approved, the EAF will be emailed back to you from EAF@nec.edu with an approval signature.   
  • You must then email the approved EAF to international@nec.edu to request Curricular Practical Training (CPT) authorization from your DSO.   
  • Deadline: The EAF must be submitted to your DSO no later than Friday of the first week of the program start. Student are not eligible to remain in the program without a secured internship from the beginning of the program.

Receive Your CPT-Authorized I-20
  • Once your approved EAF is received and reviewed, your DSO can update your SEVIS record and issue your CPT-authorized I-20 within 1-3 business days. Your New England College I-20 will be emailed to your New England College email account.
  • Do not work until you have the updated I-20 and have confirmed the CPT dates and employer information on page 2 of your I-20 are correct.   



Pay Your Tuition 
  • You can only pay your tuition after you have been registered for classes.
  • Payment is due by 4PM EST the Friday before your term starts.
    • Log into MyNEC using your NEC email address and password:
      • Go to Student Services and Financial Aid
      • Online Account
      • Make a Payment
  • Contact Student Financial Services with any questions at SFS@nec.edu or 603-428-2226.


 
Log into Blackboard the Saturday or Sunday before the program start date
  • ​​Monitor your New England College email account for the Welcome Email from your Academic Advisor in Student Services.
  • Log in to your Blackboard, sign into each course, review your syllabi and "participate". 
  • Enjoy the program!  

 
Plan ahead for residency
  • In-person residencies are mandatory and held over a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  • Dates are set in advance and can be found on our residency page.
