Email your Admission Counselor once your change of status is approved or if you need to defer your admission to a future term.
Otherwise, your SEVIS record will be canceled within 30 days after a missed program start.
Once your change of status is approved and you have received a copy of your I-797A, please send a copy to international@nec.edu.
New England College Email and myNEC access
Once your change of status has been approved, your admission counselor will send your NEC log in information, including New England College Student ID and email account.
This can take up to 3 business days after we receive notification that your F-1 Visa has been approved.
Complete and submit the Employment Agreement Form (EAF)
Important: An internship is required from the beginning of this program. You may not begin the program without an internship lined up. Internships or jobs must directly relate to the program objectives of the student’s chosen program of study.
Deadline: The EAF must be submitted to your DSO no later than Friday of the first week of the program start. Students are not eligible to remain in the program without a secured internship from the beginning of the program.
After your Change of Status has been approved and we have received your I-797A Approval Notice, you will have access to the Employment Agreement Form (EAF) in your application portal. Please log in to your application portal and click “Employment Agreement Form” and “Begin New EAF.”
Once you complete the form, the EAF team will review your submission within 5 business days. If edits are required, the EAF team will email you with the required changes.
When the EAF team approves your EAF, you will receive a signature request by email. Once you sign the form, it will be sent to your work supervisor for review. Please have your work supervisor monitor their email for the signature request.
Once all signatures are received, you will receive an email with confirmation of the approval.
If you have questions about the EAF, contact EAF@nec.edu.
If you have questions about CPT, contact your New England College DSO at International@nec.edu.
Receive Your CPT-Authorized I-20
Once your approved EAF is approved, your DSO can update your SEVIS record and issue your CPT-authorized I-20 within 1-3 business days. Your New England College I-20 will be emailed to your New England College email account.
Do not work until you have the updated I-20 and have confirmed that the CPT dates and employer information on page 2 of your I-20 are correct.
