HOUSING INFORMATION
New England College is located in central New Hampshire. This is a safe and desirable area within driving distance of Boston, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New York. The major cities in the area are Concord, New Hampshire (30 minute drive from New England College campus), Manchester, New Hampshire (40 minute drive from New England College) and Nashua, New Hampshire (60 minute drive from New England College).

Off-Campus Housing

Many students choose to find their own off-campus housing by renting an apartment or house. Below are resources to help you in your search. 

Please keep in mind:
  • Each course will meet one day per week on campus, in Henniker, New Hampshire. In person attendance is required to maintain your F-1 Visa.
  • Henniker, New Hampshire does not have any public transportation. You will need a car or organize your own transportation if your choose to live off campus.

Homestays

Homestays give you the opportunity to live with an American host or family. Hosts are pre-screened to ensure safe, quality housing. Many families are interested in cultural exchange and are happy to open their home to you.​

New England College Residence Halls (Dorm Rooms)

You may wish to live on campus for your first term. This will allow you time to get settled in the United States and learn about the area and transportation options. 

New England College Graduate students have the option of signing up for on-campus housing each term for 7-weeks at a time. Please see below for pricing: 
 
Dorm style housing
  • Double or triple shared room (1-3 roommates) and required meal plan ranges from $2500* to $3077* per term.
  • You will have at least 1 roommate with another New England College student and a communal bathroom. Dorms do not have kitchens and the only furniture provided will be a bed and a desk. However, you will have a meal plan and can eat at the on-campus Gilmore Dining Hall, Simon and Starbucks cafes.

Students living on-campus must provide proof of these vaccine requirements prior to moving in. In addition, most students are required to have a Tuberculosis blood test. If you have additional questions on vaccination requirements, please contact WellnessCenter@nec.edu.

Move in is typically the Sunday before the term start. You must be enrolled in classes and cleared by Student Financial Services to be eligible for on-campus housing. Please note, graduate students are not permitted to stay in on-campus housing during holiday breaks.

Airport Transfer

Students are responsible for finding and arranging their own transportation to New England College. While there is no public transportation to the Henniker, New Hampshire campus, there are bus options that can bring you to Manchester, New Hampshire or Concord, New Hampshire which are about 25-35 minutes from campus. 

Bus Options

Greyhound - public bus that goes from Boston-Logan International Airport to Manchester, New Hampshire or Concord, New Hampshire.

Concord Coach Lines
 - public bus that goes from Boston-Logan International Airport to Concord, New Hampshire.


Carpool

Many students choose to carpool or find rides with other students in their classes. The easiest way to connect with other students is by joining our 
International Student Facebook Page.

Applying for a Driver's License

International students can apply for a driver's license. You can find more information on applying for a driver's license on our
